That’s the message from Cllr Paul Przyszlak, Chairman of the Board of Compass Point Business Services (East Coast) Ltd, the joint shared services company which is up and running after being set up in August 2010 by East Lindsey and South Holland District Councils in Lincolnshire.
The shared service company is offering its founding authorities £30.726m in savings over the next 10 years by a ‘root and branch’ merger of IT, HR, Finance, Customer Services, Revenues and Benefits services.
“We’re showing how real savings can be delivered to district councils by adopting a thorough process redesign that truly delivers shared services across two non-neighbouring authorities. This isn’t just about shared management this is about delivering services to two clients through a clear streamlined service process supported by modern efficient IT systems.”
“Our staff have been thoroughly involved in creating new more efficient business processes to ensure that we can deliver the savings to our clients based on a thorough understanding of the services while the Company set-up will drive a commercial ethos through the founding authorities.”
Compass Point Business Services (East Coast) Ltd is offering the savings to its two founding authorities and will be open to other authorities who may want to join as shareholders.
